Day Trips


  • 1.Vicksburg boat Ramp on Yazoo canal to Le Tourneau Boat Ramp

    Trip begins on the Yazoo River. Exiting the Yazoo we will cross to the West bank of the River for a bit of sandbar prowling. Pass under the I-20 bridges and have a 7 mile long look downstream into Reid Bedford turn. Stop at Racetrack Towhead for picnicking, swimming, photos, nature observation. At low water stages a 4 mile beach front is exposed just up river from the take out at Le Tourneau. Trip distance 11 miles.


  • 2.St Joe to Waterproof

    Upon entering the River we will paddle cross stream to explore the mouth of Bayou Pierre. Prowl Boundurant Towhead and have lunch around Rodney Point or Spithead Towhead. Spithead provides great areas for swimming, wildlife observation, rock collection, and cloud watching. Trip distance 14 miles.


  • 3.Old River at Ferriday LA

    Spend the day on this 1930's cut-off loop of the Big River. Above flood stage levels the entire "island" may be circumnavigated. The trip can also paddled to the Southern chute and make a River crossing back to Natchez. Wildlife viewing is usually pretty good. Osprey can be seen at various parts of the year. Trip distance 9 miles.
