Go where few have gone before on this remote wilderness adventure. You will see neither tow boats or civilization on the Lower Arkansas River, and likely not another human soul.
The trip begins at the Wilbur D. Mills dam, near Pendleton, AR. The Arkansas River winds some 40 miles to its confluence with the Muddy Mississippi, and from there the options are a short upstream paddle to Rosedale, MS, or a longer downstream paddle to Greenville, MS.
Experience required: None! This trip is open to everybody.
Mileages (Rosedale, MS Option):
3-day option: ~15 miles per day
4-day option: ~ 10 miles per day
5-day option: ~8 miles per day
Mileages (Greenville, MS Option):
4-day option: ~ 21 miles per day
5-day option: ~17 miles per day
6-day option: ~14 miles per day
Be aware, flow on the Arkansas River is typically much slower than the Mississippi, so factor that into your daily mileages.
